Maggie Grace (born Margaret Grace Denig Sept. 21 1982) is a famous American actress. Particularly, she played Shannon Rutherford from ABC's Lost TV series as well as Kim Mills for the Taken Trilogy. Following the divorce of her parents the actress left Worthington, Ohio to live in Los Angeles. While struggling financially she landed her first acting gig as Rachel's Room's main character the video on-demand series Rachel's Room in the year 2001. In 2002 she was nominated to receive a Young Artist Award with her role as 15-year old murdered Martha Moxley. In 2004 Grace was cast as Shannon Rutherford in the television series Lost where she was the main character for the initial two seasons, and was awarded an Screen Actors Guild Award shared with the ensemble cast. Grace decided to concentrate on film following her role as Tom Welling's character, The Fog, in 2005. She has appeared as Kim Mills in Suburban Girl The Jane Austen Book Club both in 2007 and in Taken with Liam Neeson in 2008 as Kim Mills. The role was reprised as Kim Mills in Taken 2 (2012) and Taken 3 (2014).She played the leading role in Alice in Malice in Wonderland a modern version of Lewis Carroll's classic novel Alice's Adventures in Wonderland. Grace played the role of Shannon in Lost and the final episode. In 2013, she appeared in the sixth season of Californication. She portrays Faith, who is the muse and fan of the celebrities. As a part of the Gyllenhaal family, she's the younger sister to actor Jake Gyllenhaal. Her career began in the teen years with minor appearances in her father's films and appeared with her brother in the popular cult film Donnie Darko (2001). Later, she was in Adaptation Confessions of a Dangerous Mind (both 2002) and Mona Lisa Smile (2003). Gyllenhaal has received critical praise for her lead performances in Secretary (2002, erotic romantic drama) as well as Sherrybaby (606) Both that earned her Golden Globe Award nods. The Dark Knight, which came out in 2008 following many highly successful movies, such as World Trade Center (2006) which brought her greater recognition, was a huge success for Gyllenhaal. In recognition of her role as the single mother in Crazy Heart (2009) she got a nomination in the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress. The following years she appeared in comedy and dramatic films: Nanny McPhee & the Big Bang (2010) Hysteria 2011 and Won't Back Down 2012. Her other parts include acting as a Secret Service agent for the Secret Service in White House Down 2013 as well as a singer in Frank 2014, and in The Kindergarten Teacher 2018, in which she plays the title role. Gyllenhaal's first film as a writer and director came in 2021 when she wrote The Lost Daughter, a psycho-drama in which she won the Venice International Film Festival Best Screenplay Award. In addition, she was awarded an Academy Award nomination for Best Adapted Screenplay.
